Please back up your data before sending or bringing in your device

Before you bring or post your device to us for repair, please make sure all your data is safe. If your phone is still working, we strongly recommend creating an iCloud backup or backing it up to a computer via iTunes or Finder.

It’s highly recommended to back up your iPhone before any repair to avoid possible data loss.

Sometimes, unexpected issues can occur during repair that might cause the phone not to turn on or not to connect to iTunes — which could make it impossible to recover your data.

Backing up your iPhone with iCloud is quick and easy:

1. Go to Settings → iCloud → Backup

2. Turn on iCloud Backup

3. Tap Back Up Now to start a new backup immediately

If this is your first iCloud backup, it may take a little while to complete.

Once it’s done, your iPhone will automatically back up when it’s idle, connected to Wi-Fi, and charging.

Restoring from iCloud later is also simple — just select “Restore from iCloud Backup” after resetting your device.

As Apple continues to make things more difficult for independent (third-party) repair shops like ours, after a battery replacement there’s about a 90% chance that you’ll see a message on your iPhone saying:

“Important Battery Message”, which indicates that the battery cannot be verified as a genuine Apple battery.

Please don’t worry — this is only an informational message and it has absolutely no effect on your phone’s performance or functionality.

This message may even disappear after a future software update, as Apple is currently facing several lawsuits regarding its restrictive repair policies and may be required to ease these limitations in the future.
